T-Rich is the Top Dawg

Richardson has the Mistake on the Lake fans dreaming about bringing the first Super Bowl to the Rust Belt

ELYRIA, OH - The Schaefer Beer cans were a poppin' and America's oldest lager (Established in 1842) was flowing as the Dawg Pound was celebrating all over the Rust Belt, including down on The Flats and on the Cuyahoga River, just shortly after the hometown Brownies selected the stud running back out of Alabama. In a marriage made by the football gods, excluding Jim Brown, the city of Cleveland has another Bama man that could re-write the Browns record books. For those who don't know and never went to a game there and never drank a  Schaefer Beer there as the Commissioner did with Earl White and his cousins Wayne and Dean, it was the "house beer" of the Browns old Cleveland Municipal Stadium and with the ad slogan "Schaefer is the one beer to have when you're having more than one", and you can bet they sold more than one at the old ball park.

Richardson could be the answer to what is ailing the Gritz Blitz

This is how the one-round annual BDFL Pony Draft played out for this year's crop of rookies...

BLITZ

#1 | RB - Trent Richardson/CLE – Richardson will be a star in Cleveland from day one and will give the Dawg Pound and the Gritz Blitz something to celebrate soon.

GLENDALE, AZ - JANUARY 02: Andrew Luck #12 of the Stanford Cardinal looks to pass the ball against the Oklahoma State Cowboys during the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl on January 2, 2012 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

JUGGERNAUTS

#2 | QB - Andrew Luck/IND Luck was lock to go to the Colts with the first pick in the NFL Draft, but fell to the #2 selection in the BDFL's annual Pony Draft.

WACO, TX - DECEMBER 03: Robert Griffin III #10 of the Baylor Bears looks to pass during a game against the Texas Longhorns at Floyd Casey Stadium on December 3, 2011 in Waco, Texas.

FIGHTIN' SLOVAKS

#3 | QB - Robert Griffin III/WAS If there was any question that Griffin would be a bust in the NFL, it is for certain now that the Slovaks have tagged him as "the franchise".

STILLWATER, OK - NOVEMBER 5: Wide receiver Justin Blackmon #81of the Oklahoma State Cowboys looks looks for an opening in the second half against the Kansas State Wildcats on November 5, 2011 at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Oklahoma State defeated Kansas State 52-45.

GRENADIERS

#4 | WR - Justin Blackmon/JAX Jags are gambling that Big 12 defenses live in the AFC South and they could be right. G-Men take the proverbial "best athlete available.

MAYORS

#5 | QB - Ryan Tannehill/MIA Miami and the Mayors are hoping that Tannehill is the real deal to provide the Fins with their first decent QB since Dan "The Man" Marino.

WOODEN WARRIORS

#6 | WR - Michael Floyd/ARI Floyd was overshadowed in this draft by Blackmon, but he could be the best receiver in the draft and 'Zona will know how to use him.

WIZARDS PASSED BUT COULD HAVE HAD...

#7 | RB - LaMichael James/SF James is not very high on many team's draft boards, but neither was Darren Sproles. The Wizards missed the boat at this year's Pony Draft.

SLOTH MONSTERS

#8 | WR - Ryan Broyles/DET – In what many BDFL media experts tabbed as the reach of the day, the Sloths got their man in Broyles with the hope he can stay healthy.

DOGS

#9 | WR - Kendall Wright/BAY Wright was RG3's main squeeze at Baylor and helped his Heisman campaign. The Dogs are hoping too for the Big 12 Ds in the AFC South.

WOOSIERS

#10 | WR - Alshon Jeffery/CHI  – Jeffery will be a monster at the next level. Teamed with Brandon Marshall, the Bears have a formidable one-two punch. Woo is grinning.

GAMBLERS

#11 | WR - Stephen Hill/NYJ The Gamblers are thrilled with the athletic Hill, but just like at Georgia Tech, who is going to get the ball to him with the Jets?

CHEETAHS

#12 | RB - David Wilson/NYG – You do not become a four-time BDFL champion by chance. This pick shows why the savvy Cheetahs are the BDFL's Lion Kings.

BULLETS

#14 | TE - Joe Adams/CAR Adams is definitely a sleeper, but the Bullets like his big play potential and he could be the deep threat they need in 2012 to get over the hump.

POWERSLEDS

#15 | WR - Rueben Randle/NYG – Randle was a "no show" in the big games vs. Bama and the BDFL experts question his toughness, yet the Sleds still took him with their pick.

Lamar Miller - Miami v Florida State

ARMADILLOS

#15 | RB - Lamar Miller/MIA Armos make the best of a tough draft position by selecting the talented Miller, regarded by many as the second best back in this class.

Marquis Maze - Alabama v Tennessee

WILDCATS

#16 | WR - Marquis Maze/ALA Undrafted by the NFL, but by the BDFL's stepchild. Maze will have to contribute as a free agent to help out the hapless Mildcats.
